Travis Strange Art is a Berea, KY studio run by Travis Strange, who studied art at Berea College, met his wife there, and stayed to raise his family and make things. He works as both a woodworker and an artist — a combination that shows up directly in his primary body of work.

Travis makes handmade, up-cycled painted wood collages with painted paper accents, each piece inspired by quilt-making traditions and American folk art. The results are layered, geometric, and intensely colored — arrangements of painted wood strips and blocks that read like abstracted landscapes or architectural patterns, with the warmth of something handmade and the structure of something designed. His work is shown at Revelry Gallery.
