Sarabee Designs & Fiber Farm
About
Sarabee Designs & Fiber Farm is a Winchester, Kentucky fiber studio run by Sarabeth “Sarabee” Parido, who raises a flock of more than 40 sheep on her family’s Central Kentucky farm and transforms their wool into hand-dyed yarns, spun fibers, and hand-knit goods. Sarabeth has been knitting since she was 8 years old and has deepened her practice to include spinning, natural dyeing, and crocheting, building a farm-to-fiber practice that keeps the full process in her own hands.
When the family moved to her husband’s hometown, Sarabeth opened an Etsy shop that grew into a wider creative enterprise. Today the farm is home to a diverse flock — including Babydoll Southdown, Shetland, Rambouillet, and Longwool sheep — each contributing different fiber characteristics to the studio’s work. Sarabeth also serves as director of the Kentucky Fiber Trail and the annual Kentucky Sheep and Fiber Festival, connecting fiber farmers, dyers, and craftspeople across the state.
Sarabee Designs products — hand-dyed roving, yarns, knit wearables, and fiber notions — are available at sarabeedesigns.com, on Etsy, and through the annual Bluegrass Yarn & Fiber Crawl.
