PhbeaD is a Berea, KY-based jewelry studio founded by Dr. Lisa Senetar, whose unusual path to making led her from a Ph.D. in Biochemistry straight to the jeweler's bench. The studio name itself tells the story — a portmanteau of "Ph.D." and "bead" — capturing the moment she chose creativity over research.

Lisa works primarily in resin and polymer clay, crafting pieces that are vibrant, minimalist, and wearable every day. Her signature collection features jewelry embedded with actual insect wings, each one individually sealed and preserved so that the natural colors and patterns remain intact indefinitely — no two pieces ever alike.
