Making Good Scentz is a Bardstown, Kentucky bath and body studio that began in 2012 as a family home project — testing soap recipes in the kitchen every week — and grew into one of downtown Bardstown’s most beloved destinations. Every product is crafted from scratch with no pre-made bases: cold-process bar soaps, lotions, sugar scrubs, bath bombs, lip balms, soy candles, and wax melts, all handmade in small batches.

The studio’s cold-process soap recipe, refined over more than 15 years, is built on plant-based olive oil, coconut oil, and vegetable oil and cures for four or more weeks before sale. In 2014, Making Good Scentz opened a storefront in historic downtown Bardstown; in 2023, an adjoining Sipz & Scentz Pour Your Own Candle Bar opened, where visitors can blend a custom-scented candle while sipping locally made wines and craft beers.
