Guided Hand Studio
About
Guided Hand Studio is the Louisville, Kentucky illustration and mixed media studio of Irene Mudd, whose work draws inspiration from tarot, folklore, magic, feminism, and the esoteric traditions of women’s history. Irene holds a BFA in painting and fiber art from the Hite Art Institute at the University of Louisville and works across painting, cut paper, collage, textiles, and embroidery to create richly layered images.
The studio began in the summer of 2017 with a feverish single project: the Guided Hand Tarot, a 78-card hand-collaged deck approaching tarot from an inclusive, feminist perspective, funded via Kickstarter. That project grew into a full creative enterprise offering art prints, stickers, wall banners, pillows, and embellished goods centered on what Irene describes as a “Venusian” aesthetic — beauty, sensuality, and the divine feminine.
Guided Hand Studio work is available at Louisville craft markets and at guidedhandstudio.com.
