Susan Goldstein is a Lexington-based ceramicist whose work has appeared in over fifty national and international exhibitions, including features in Ceramics Monthly and the books 500 Bowls and Pottery Tour of Kentucky. A past president of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen and recipient of a Kentucky Arts Council Al Smith Fellowship, Goldstein builds her signature Sunrise Bowls from triangular strips of clay draped into molds — each settling into an unpredictable form — then sprays layers of ceramic stain that interact through the kiln in ways beyond her original concept.
