About
Chad Eames is a self-taught Lexington woodturner who salvages urban and suburban trees — logs destined for the burn pile or the roadside — and uncovers the bowls, vessels, and boxes hidden inside. Each piece begins with minutes or days of careful observation before the lathe reveals its form, and Eames often extends the work with carving, dyeing, and sculptural embellishments. His material comes almost entirely from the tree crews and roadsides of central Kentucky, giving each piece a second life with deep local roots.
