Bri Weaves

About

Bri Weaves is a Louisville, Kentucky weaving studio run by Briana Frederick, who handweaves functional wearable art from diverse fibers, textures, and colors. Her signature pieces take the form of cowls, scarves, and neckerchiefs — work designed for longevity and made to last a lifetime.

A distinctive element of Briana’s practice is her two Nigora goats, Betty and Boon, who live with her and provide cashmere fiber incorporated directly into many of her woven pieces. Each warp she works is uniquely named, and the finished works are treated as siblings within a larger handwoven family: same yarns running in the warp direction, different yarns in the weft, resulting in one-of-a-kind pieces that belong to the same lineage.
