A Jewell

Allen Jewell is a Versailles-based lapidary and silversmith who has been cutting stones and crafting settings since the mid-1970s, following early studies in Southern Africa. Working in fabricated sterling silver and 14K gold, he pairs his settings with semi-precious gems he cuts and facets himself, allowing the natural color and form of each stone to drive the design. A longtime member of the Kentucky Guild of Artists and Craftsmen, Jewell also teaches lapidary arts and silversmithing at the William Holland School and Wildacres workshops.
